In 2015 we met The National Endowment for Financial Education. They have a content-rich foundation website with the added complexity of multiple departments responsible for different areas. As the years went by, each department’s needs and requirements created a disparate user experience.
Redesigning legacy websites is never easy. The ultimate goal of balancing the needs of the users with business goals is compounded with the difficulty of not alienating current users in the process.
Our solution was an intense collaboration with a stakeholder from each department. This broad range of input ensured that all foundation needs were heard. We then wove in the user’s needs via focus group workshops, resulting in a workflow relevant to users and a consistent blueprint for their redesign.
